Live bands, dancing, delicious food and drinks, jumpy houses, face painting, handmade jewelry and artisan vendors are just a taste of what to expect July 28-29, 2018 during the Benicia Waterfront Festival. The festivities are Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+), and kids 12 and under are free with a paying adult. If you plan to go both days, get the weekend pass for $15. Be sure to get your tickets online so you can skip the line.

What is really special about this two-day music festival is how relaxing and friendly the environment is. It’s typical to expect and sometimes look forward to lively crowds, loud music, and great people watching – but not all festivals cater to both the party crew and to families. That is where Benicia really shines, it’s almost like we step back in time to when the whole town came out for a celebration.

Not only can you hear the music, have a conversation, and let the kids play but you can also enjoy a full day out without breaking the bank. The food and drink lines aren’t overly long or expensive and include kid friendly options. There are tables under a shade tent, but you got to get there early to reserve a spot because guests tend to camp out for the day. There is also a great lawn area where you can set up your chairs or blanket near the stage.

This year’s music line-up is as follows:

Saturday, July 28

11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Highway Water Blues kicks off the event with blues based American music. This talented band brings an extensive play list that includes timeless hits and great dancing tunes.

Sunday, July 29

Tortilla Soup is back for the final show again this year covering tunes from the 60’s through today. Their playlist is as varied as their talent pulling from Top 40, Soul, R&B, and Cumbia.

During the festival, from noon – 4 p.m. each day, the International Laser Class Association 2018 Master Pacific Coast Championship sailboat races will be happening just off shore between the festival area and Benicia Marina.

Watch the races, listen to cool music, stroll First Street’s great shops, galleries and restaurants, then stop for a nightcap. That’s how you celebrate a great day by the bay in Benicia!
